The big race of the weekend this week was the 7.5 and 15 mile Colchester Harriers annual road race. Whilst many of the Boxted Runners were taking it easy this weekend in preparation for the upcoming Colchester Half Marathon next week, Becky was taking on the challenging 7.5 mile route.

The race itself is on ‘home turf’ for the Boxted Runners, starting in Langham before running through Boxted and back to Langham in a 7.5 mile loop.

Becky, looking strong throughout, came home in a speedy 56 minutes, breaking her own 10k PB in the process. Her great time made sure she came home with the 2nd Female trophy. A great achievement.

On Saturday at Parkrun, Boxted Runners took part at both Colchester castle and Great Cornard. Armand ran a fantastic race at Castle Park, giving him a new PB, and a Boxted Runners Platinum Standard for his time of 18:33. The first time we have had a Boxted Runner at the top any park run results. Another great Boxted Runners achievement.

At the club run on Sunday we had another great turnout with tunners completing the 5k and 10k routes in a sunny, sunday morning social run.

Well done to everyone that came out running with us this week. Next week is the Colcheter Half Marathon, for those not running, it would be great to see you along the course motivating the Boxted Runners and others to achieve the 13.1 mile challenge.
