On a damp and blustery Sunday, Wing took on the Vitality Big Half in London. Before the race saw the worse of the weather with 25MPH winds and driving rain. This didn’t dampen Wings spirit and fight though, as although needing to battle against the wind, the sun came out and she recorded a fantastic time of 1:56:38.
This week saw Five Boxted Runners take part in the Hadleigh Legacy 10k in Essex. This was a hugely challenging but enjoyable off-road 10k using some of the 2012 Olympic MTB course, set within the grounds of Hadleigh Castle. They faced hills, more hills, mud and more mud, but all came away with fantastic results.
The first race for Boxted Runners in 2019 saw Becky Day take on the hilly 15 mile Benfleet 15 Mile on 20th January. In Freezing conditions, Becky completed the course in a great time of 2:11:56, coming in to finish 31st female out of 292, and 257th out of a large field of 824. Winning a Gold Medal. Well done Becky 👏🏻🏃🏼♀️🏅
