Following the UK Government’s announcement on Saturday 19 December of new Tier 4 areas, details have been released by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Sport England as to how sport and physical activity is impacted and unfortunately, all club activities will need to stop until the restrictions are lifted. We are delighted to announce following recent Government and England Athletics communications that our club sessions can resume as from Wednesday 2nd December with our first session back on Thursday morning 3rd December! 🙌 😁

Following the UK Government’s new national COVID-19 restrictions and the publication of bespoke instructions from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), EA have revised the current guidance for athletics and running. Despite us lobbying DCMS for certain exemptions, this new guidance will apply from Thursday 5 November 2020 until Wednesday 2 December 2020. Boxted Express – Coming soon to a Boxted Runners session this Autumn

I’m thrilled to announce that as from this coming Sunday (26th July) we will begin the phasing of our club return! 🤩 🙌 We have now reinstated our Sunday and Tuesday runs, and the Thursday morning run will start on the 10th September 🤩 More information to follow shortly regarding COVID 19 safety guidelines for returning clubs which we all need to understand and be aware of.

With the sun shining down and perfect running conditions, just after 8:00am, the 25 Boxted Runners made their way to the Colchester United Stadium for the 2019 Colchester Half Marathon.

The big race of the weekend this week was the 7.5 and 15 mile Colchester Harriers annual road race. Whilst many of the Boxted Runners were taking it easy this weekend in preparation for the upcoming Colchester Half Marathon next week, Becky was taking on the challenging 7.5 mile route.

On a damp and blustery Sunday, Wing took on the Vitality Big Half in London. Before the race saw the worse of the weather with 25MPH winds and driving rain. This didn’t dampen Wings spirit and fight though, as although needing to battle against the wind, the sun came out and she recorded a fantastic time of 1:56:38.

This week, the Boxted Runners were invited to take part in a Charity Run with the Framlingham Flyers in Aid of the British Heart Foundation at Bastings Hall

On a glorious Sunny Sunday, with unseasonal barmy conditions for February Anna Anderson performed magnificantly, running the Tarpley 10 mile road race, passing through beautiful countryside along gently undulating country lanes.
